How it works

The electric composter uses heat to dry and break down organic material. The cycle completes in 3–8 hours depending on volume and moisture content. The result is a dry material that can be used as bird and rodent feed, added to a garden compost mix, used as a top-dressing mulch, or blended into a growing medium.

The process is odourless and produces no leachate, making it suitable for use indoors or in a kitchen setting. Operation is simple and electricity consumption is low.

Eco Cycler model

The Eco Cycler model includes UV lighting for bacterial neutralisation and a mobile app for monitoring. Two operating modes are available: a short cycle that reduces organic volume by 60%, and a long cycle that reduces volume by 90%.

The unit is 36 cm tall, 32 cm deep and 28 cm wide, weighing 12 kg. Processing capacity is 1 kg per cycle. Greenhouse gas reduction per cycle is approximately 40%.

Environmental and practical benefits

Reduced organic waste going to landfill means lower methane emissions. Combined with lower transport and processing costs for municipalities, the electric composter is both an environmental and practical upgrade over a standard waste bin.

Key Benefits

  • 3–8 hour cycle
